Welcome to the '09 Blizzard team page!
9th and 10th grade girls
We are a 2009, year-round girls' team comprised of rising 9th and 10th grade soccer lovers for the 2024-2025 soccer season. Our coaches are committed to developing and supporting strong young women athletes, especially those who love the game but also wish to play other sports or participate in other school and family activities. We work hard, treat our teammates with kindness and respect, and above all else, HAVE FUN!
While our "official tryouts" are in May, we are always looking for dedicated, competitive, and fun-loving girls to come try us out!

About Coach ShellyThis is Shelly's fourth year coaching the Blizzard. A mom of three (including two girls), Coach Shelly knows first hand the challenges girls face in today’s competitive sports and social world. She has made it her mission in coaching the Blizzards to help guide her players to fulfill their own unique potential, and develop confidence as young women, both on and off of the soccer field.
Over the past seven years, Coach Shelly and her family have been active members of the Northern Elite family in some way or another – first on the sidelines for her son, and most recently on the coaching team for the NESC Blizzards. A soccer goalie in her high school days as a Bel Air Bobcat, Coach Shelly has devoted her life to coaching and mentoring young athletes in Harford County. Her experience spans swimming instruction at the Bel Air Athletic Club, Bel Air Rec girls’ lacrosse, and coaching girls’ youth soccer at Forest Hill Rec and NESC.
When she is not coaching her Blizzards, Shelly also volunteers as a Catechist at Saint Margaret Parish.
Coach Shelly holds a coaching certification from US Soccer in 11v11 and 9v9.
Assistant Head Coach: Tim Hammond

With an emphasis on perfecting the foundational skills of soccer, Tim works hard to help each girl grow in confidence to be the best version of themselves on the pitch.
Practices
1x/Week - Fall
1x/Week - Winter & Spring
Spring and Fall OutlookWe know that high school is a busy time for many players and their families. We are currently playing in the CMSA spring league, practicing one day a week at NHHS turf, and supplement training with indoor conditioning and technical work at the Soccer Factory. In the Fall, we play in the CMSA 15-16 Sunday league, and compete in 2-3 tournaments. Winters, we compete in the Maryland Soccer Arena's indoor league. Our team involves limited, local travel, but we are always exploring stay away opportunities to compete if the timing is right.
2009 GIRLS SOCCER TRYOUTS (Rising 10th and 11th grade girls) - MAY 2025* Any players looking to join the Blizzard for Open Workouts MUST complete a NESC Participation Waiver before attending:
